This month's newsletter is to dedicated to three items: a free new booklet with 16 practical ideas for American business executives (any anyone else) traveling abroad, a great premiere event happening in San Francisco, and my first book, Etiquette in Minutes.

Business for Diplomatic Action
First, I am proud to introduce Business for Diplomatic Action, a non-profit organization dedicated to enlisting the U.S. business community to improve the standing of America in the world. The goal is for the world to see America admired again as a global leader, and respected as a courier of progress and prosperity for all people.

BDA believes as I do:  “Small things can make a big difference in America’s standing in the world.” It doesn’t matter whether you are traveling abroad for business or pleasure. As BDA says, “In other countries you are more than just an American, you are America.”

To that end, BDA has published the BDA Business Guide, a great little booklet filled with 16 simple suggestions when traveling abroad. Download this free booklet here as your Tip of the Month and share it with everyone you know who travels abroad. Or, to receive a full-color copy sent by regular mail at no charge, simply email us at Info@AdvancedEtiquette.com. To request large quantities of the booklet for your office or school, please contact me for arrangements.

Although written from an American perspective, this booklet should be required reading for people traveling outside their home countries.

Calling all San Francisco Bay Area Supporters

I am proud to announce a special event never presented before, sponsored by The Commonwealth Club of Northern California in association with The City Club of San Francisco:

Dining Etiquette Around the World:
Hands, Chopsticks, Forks, Knives and Spoons

(Click title link to invitation)

with
Syndi Seid, Founder and Director, Advanced Etiquette
Vinita Chopra Jacinto, Culinary Chef Instructor,
California Culinary Academy

When was the last time you dined without a fork or knife? Don't worry; we're not selling the silverware. We are collaborating with The Commonwealth Club and The City Club to present a fantastic dinner event designed to instruct you on the finer points of dining etiquette around the world.

In this unique and interactive learning experience, Vinita Jacinto and I will discuss how various cultures have different styles of eating: with fingers, two sticks of wood, and forged metal. At the elegant City Club of San Francisco, you will enjoy an elegant three-course meal with wine, inspired by the cuisines of China, India, and Europe, while we discuss the finer points of etiquette for each dining style.

Location: The City Club of San Francisco, 155 Sansome Street, 10th Floor, San Francisco

Time: 6 p.m. Special reception; Program begins by 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $75 Commonwealth Club/City Club members; $85 non-members. As a board member of The City Club, I invite you to attend this event at the special City Club rate of $75. To receive the special price, please contact me at (415) 346-3665 or by email at Info@AdvancedEtiquette.com
